The Vajdahunyad Castle was designed and built over the turn of the 20 century using diverse architectural styles copied from Budapest's most attractive buildings, and also from elsewhere other Hungarian architectural masterpieces. Little structures of an assortment of churches, monasteries and palaces, all of which are found in varied areas of Hungary, are all within the area of the castle which is next to Budapest's winter ice-skating rink, City Park lake where is derives its name. A creepy bronze statue of the first recorder of Hungarian history acts as sentinel of the assortment of Gothic, Transylvanian, Renaissance, Baroque, and Byzantine building, of which only a portion is a model of the initial Castle. The castle, was intended for the Millennium exhibition and now it is an art historian's heaven.
